WATER HEATERS

"To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment."

Ralph Waldo Emerson

We sell and install many name brand water heaters from leading manufacturers. Below are links to the Bradford-White Line of Water Heaters.  CONSUMER BEWARE, Our experience has shown that water heaters purchased from the large home centers often result in warranty conflicts in the event of breakdown or failure.  We advise dealing with a reputable contractor who purchases through a locally owned supply house.  If you see something of interest, call or email us for more details. We will be glad to personally answer any questions that you may have.

TANKLESS WATER HEATERS...Are they really worth it in the long run?

We are often approached by vendors to become registered dealers for the various manufacturers of "Tankless Water Heaters" often referred to as "Instantaneous Water Heaters"; our customers also have asked if we install these 'super efficient, money saving' products.  Now anyone who knows me will tell you, I'm all about saving energy and going green.  However, to date I have elected NOT to get involved with these water heaters.  Here's why; my extensive knowledge of proper gas fuel line sizing identified my first primary concern, followed closely by "water quality" issues and manufacturers warranty concerns/ wording.  The average TWH burns up to 190,000 (190 CFH) Btu's of Natural Gas, in order to properly burn this amount of gas would require a fuel line increase of at least (2) pipe sizes.  Your current gas meter must be able to handle 75% of the total gas load at any given time.

HOUSE HEATER = 100, 000 Btu (100 CFH)

WATER HEATER = 190,000 Btu (190 CFH)

GAS RANGE = 65,000 Btu (165 CFH)

CLOTHES DRYER = 45,000 Btu (45 CFH)

For example,The average gas meter is capable of delivering 250 CFH, the total above equals a total of 400 CFH.

To Summarize, you will not only have the expense of $2,000 - $3,000 to purchase and install the equipment and required vent materials, you will also have probable expensive upgrades in fuel piping within the home, utility costs to enlarge your gas meter and/ or gas service entering the home, combined with the probability of having to add a 'water softener/ treatment' system.  Not to mention recommended annual maintenance and inspection expenses.  Parts availability may potentially become an issue in the event something goes down, say, over a Holiday Weekend.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

We "want" your repeat business and referrals.  We feel this would be compromised if we sold and installed a product that  in our opinion has too many downsides.  For us to install anything, we want to be confident the product you're choosing to invest in will meet or exceed the product claims.
